home.

for a while now, home has been defined for me not as one place, but wherever the people are that know my best, that have a part of me. the bonus of this is that i have a lot of wonderful places to call home. the down-side is that i can't be in all of them at once.

as i handed my boarding pass & license to the security guard at rdu last week, kansas bound, i smiled at her and when asked where i'm going, i said "i'm going home." she glanced at my nc driver's license and said "honey, you are home." well, i think both of us were right.

our family had an awesome time at the lake. bull shoals is isolated and hilariously hillbilly. all the brams in one place, eating, boating, chatting, swimming, shopping, and listening to daddio pick and grin on the dock, and in true bram fam fashion- we managed to go almost a full week together (which sadly is very rare these days) and didn't take a single group shot. way to go. and i know i promised, but my camera died...sad day.

we spent a day on each end in kc and had so much fun seeing some friends there! we ate oklahoma joe's with my dear friend wendy who was then 39 weeks preggo and now has a beautiful baby girl that we can't wait to meet! i got this picture right before my camera died...

we also went for pizza with some great friends in westport, had some fun visiting my best friend while she was babysitting some hilarious kiddos, and even managed a quick trip to jose peppers. for any of you reading that may not know what that is, please come visit this fall--it's a must.

then we moved completely out of our apartment, deep cleaned and everything. it was our first home together, and i hope the last one on the 3rd floor. this is us pre-sweaty mess:

and our naked apartment.

and because of these awesome people opening up their home...

we have a new place for all of our stuff while we are moving to kc and then who knows where.

get ready--next post: SAVANNAH!

  1. I miss you Libby! LOVE the blog. Helps me feel connected a little. not the same as a phone conversation though. one of these days.
Praying for you and Ruff in all the transition. You are amazing!

  2. thanks miriam! got your e-mail, too. you're the best. can't wait to catch up on the phone, and always hoping for a chance to come back to lost canyon -- that's definitely a favorite home of mine.
