leaving day

(disclaimer: if you've been getting our email updates, this will be a bit of a repeat for you.)

as we finish packing up our suitcases for our journey home, i'm also tempted to pack up all that we've experienced in the past 3 months in india, to make sure all the people we have met, places we have seen, and things we have done fits neatly in the suitcase of my understanding, and doesn't exceed the 50 pound limit. however, it's a lot harder to wrap up all the things we have learned and seen, touched and lived than it is to pack up all of our (ready-to-be-washed-in-a-machine) clothes.

what we do know is this place has changed us...though we can't quite explain how. we know we have met some amazing people, encountered incredible stories and lives...whether any of them are different from meeting us, we don't know. we hope and pray that small seeds have been planted along the way, that the believers we have met continue to grow and reach out to the people around them. that others we have met will live full lives, that they will find hope in the middle of their aids, in the middle of their struggle to feed, clothe, and shelter their families, hope for the kids from a slum trying to get an education, whatever their struggle is: that they may find the hope and life in jesus, and throw their lives into his bigger, greater story.

we couldn't have embarked on this adventure without the support of our incredible family and friends. we are so thankful for each of you. for whoever even reads this blog, i am thankful for you. we have truly felt sent and we are thankful for the way people have joined with us in the work we have done in delhi for the past several months. while we have had an amazing time in india and will cherish the memories we have made here, we are both so looking forward to coming home and making a new one in kansas city.

love to all--we'll see you soon :)
