greenville, nc
we headed from savannah right to greenville, home of the east carolina pirates. which reminds me of an awesome conversation i had in college.
girl: "libby, where did your boyfriend go to college?"
me: "east carolina"
girl: really confused look on her face "so...how many carolina's are there? i know there's a north and a south...i guess there's an east and a west, too?"
pretty hilarious. and you can ask anyone, i make awesome blonde observations like this one on a regular basis. it's nice to be on the other side every once in a while, too ;)
i should really call this trip a food tour of the greenville area, because the whole trip was centered around food. since that's what i wake up thinking about...it was perfect. we stayed with brent, a great friend, groomsmen in our wedding, and ruffin's former roomie.
we took a trip to the original washington (founded before dc, thanks history teacher brent for your abundant knowledge) outside of greenville and ate at backwater jacks, the cutest little tiki bar ever.
we walked around on the river for a while and looked at houseboats we will never be able to afford. it was fun, and washington is a really cute old town. (click on collage to zoom)
later on we stopped by ecu's newly expanded football stadium.
and as far as the cut-off tee's...well, i'm sorry. i'm still working on him.
we ended the trip with a trip to a chinese buffet, that i just didn't have the stomach for. ruffin left in too-much-black-pepper chicken-misery and naturally unbuttoned his shorts immediately after leaving the restaurant. we hop in the car for the hour and a half drive back to raleigh and i am laughing at him groaning about the thought that he will have to re-button his pants in 90 minutes. 90 MINUTES! he gives me the classic ruffin about to say something sassy look and says "libby. my whole life revolves around comfort."
obviously...why else would you wear cut-off tees?

raleigh/durham friends: i'm happy to say we're back in town for a full week! we would love to see you!
