young life!

i knew i liked that guy. it's hard to even describe the impact young life has had on me over the years. for starters--that's how i met jesus, all of my closest friends, and my husband. when i was really starting to question who i was for the first time, the people in young life were sharing with me an answer better than i could have ever imagined. that i am loved, accepted, valued...just for being me. the good news of jesus came alive for me for the first time through this ministry, and the passion for what young life is about still burns inside of me.

ruffin & i just came back from olathe young life's end-of-the-year christmas party, and it is just so cool to be in a room filled with adults who have a heart for high school kids, and invest so much of their selves and their time into making young life happen in their area.

one night after campaigners when i was 16 years old, i made my young life leader (and area director) stay late to tell me all about her job and what she does on young life staff. my response then was: "i'm pretty sure that's what i want to do." and i'm excited to announce i have an interview with young life in the kansas city area this friday, because 8 years later...i can hardly dream of a job i would rather do more.
