flower festival

a week or two ago, we heard that the flower festival was coming up. don't know much about it, but i figured flowers would be involved and i'd want to go visit some gardens. then i forgot about it.

until this morning, our leisurely breakfast was interrupted by this happening (right outside our door):

the good news: i received a package from my parents yesterday with batteries for my videocamera, so i could actually capture it!

the bad news: i was so excited about capturing the video, i didn't notice i stepped in dog poop in the process...and somehow got it not only on the bottom of my flip flop, but on the top and part of my foot. woops!
