old delhi

as promised, here are some pictures and a little post about our trip to old delhi yesterday...
we were smart enough to walk: the traffic jams are as crazy as
the electrical wiring in this part of town

although plenty of nice rickshaw guys attempted to tempt us...

again: crazy wiring. this place is nuts.

we made it through a narrow alleyway and to the front of the jama masjid,
one of the largest mosques in asia

the architecture is quite beautiful and the red sandstone was very popular during
the time it was built (we've also seen it at the red fort in delhi, and the taj mahal).

and here is our final destination: karim's. most famous restaurant in delhi.
(and for good reason, too!)

i <3 awkward spelling.

the one thing i forgot to do...take a picture of the food. i was kinda too concerned
about eating as much of it as possible once it was set on the table...so yeah. my bad.
for the record, we had: butter naan (BEST i've ever had), butter chicken (ditto),
tandoori chicken, and ruff had some chicken seekh kababs. YUM.

we walked around old delhi for a bit after lunch...

and headed on our way past the jama masjid one more time to catch the metro home.

i'm sure there's more to old delhi than the food...but it's
definitely an important aspect for us baileys!
