qutb minar

(some things in india are just hard to pronounce.
exhibit 2: we live in paryavaran complex.
nearly 4 months later, ruffin is still asking if he's saying it right.)

but on to the pretties.
because this place had a lot of that.

so the qutb minar is the tower (the tallest brick tower in the world, and it was built in the 12th century), and surrounding it were several tombs, red sandstone buildings, ruins of a college, and ruins of...other stuff. the detail in each building was incredible!

p.s.: as i was waiting for my friend to arrive, a group of 7-8 indian guys came up to me and asked "one picture, ma'am?" awkward? yes. more awkward to say no? i sure thought so.
but i'm a yes kind of girl, i suppose. another surprise to find that they weren't
after a simple group shot, but an individual photo for each.
so i smiled. and laughed inside. and 7-8 camera clicks later, we said goodbye. only in india.
